Message from Don and Russ

The Enneagram will repay you deeply for persevering in your study of it, not only with a growing self-understanding, but with a more serene, joyous, and productive life. So much of our time and energy is wasted in "negative emotions" caused by the features of our personality. The more that we understand and expose these features, no longer can they work their mischief on us or in our lives. It is as if we are turning on a light in a den of thieves, as Gurdjieff taught. The thieves can no longer be about their dishonest business whenever the light shines on their activities. Exposure makes them run away and they lose their power over us. Study leads to awareness, and awareness to freedom.

We encourage you to continue to work with the Enneagram, not as an academic subject but as a living and ongoing inquiry into your own human nature. The living focus of the Enneagram is humanity and the territory of the human heart; it is not some dry or academic subject, but
ultimately, is about the human spirit and how it unfortunately (and mysteriously) becomes endarkened by ignorance, fear, and clinging to illusions.

The more we simply expose ourselves to the truths that the Enneagram points out, however, the more light returns to our minds and spirits--and transformation occurs. You don't really need to make any efforts to change, but simply become aware of yourself and tell the truth about what you find. The more you do this, the more you will change. And the more you change, the more your life and all of your relationships will also improve..

The whole world very badly needs people who are waking up and who are no longer content to live in darkness and mechanicality. If you continue with this transformative work, it will have a profound impact not only on your own life and the lives of those around you, but, ultimately, on the whole world."
